Jackson is an Associate Counsel at Onyx Law Group and has concentrated experience in estate litigation.
With a focus on the client’s interests, Jackson enjoys the pursuit of justice and finding an equitable resolution. Primarily acting as Plaintiff’s counsel, Jackson works to represent the disinherited and those whose legal and moral interests have been threatened.
Jackson’s areas of concentration within estate litigation include:
- Wills variation actions (s. 60 of WESA)
- Resulting trust actions
- Validity of Wills actions
- Unjust enrichment and other constructive trust actions
- Breach of fiduciary duty actions
- Dealing with problem executors and trustees
- Passing of accounts for estates
Jackson was co-counsel on the landmark wills variation case, Grewal v. Litt, 2019 BCSC 1154, where he was able to obtain a substantial variation of a large estate in favour of his clients.
Jackson obtained his law degree from the University of Leicester in the UK and his accreditation from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.
Previously, Jackson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Victoria, followed by a Masters of American History, also from the University of Victoria.
